Abstract
Discusses the reasons and ways to teach dystopian fiction in the upper grades of secondary schools in the Netherlands by focusing on Brave New World (Aldous Huxley) and Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury). It consists of an outline of Dutch literary education, arguments for and against choosing dystopian fiction, and, specifically, these two works, and closes by offering a full lesson series based on the two novels and the theoretical background.
