Abstract
This thesis contains exploratory research concerning the translation process as carried out by medical translators and indicates some possible areas for future research. The content is based on a survey that was held among freelance translators and translation agencies working in the medical translation field combined with Daniel Gouadec's detailed description of the translation process.
