Abstract
Bisexual women and their partners are interviewed about how they speak about the bisexual orientation of one partner in the public and private sphere, and about polyamory in the private sphere. Their responses are connected to a discursive framework, which shows how bisexual same sex acts are loaded with a promiscuity. The response to this imagery by both the monosexual and the bisexual partner, is named "compulsory monosexuality", derived from Rich's compulsory heterosexuality.
