Abstract

"Criticising Metafiction: A Story beyond Narrative Craft" focuses on the concept and means of metafiction and investigates how a way of writing that was considered very unconventional has become so popular and, arguably, conventional in our contemporary society. The thesis paper consists of a theoretical framework on the "genre" of metafiction and is concluded with a short story which takes the "conventions" of metafiction to the next stage: the criticising of criticising fiction and contemporary society.
