Steering Waste Management towards Sustainability in Senegal, the role of Waste Valorization

Abstract

The current general waste situation is worrying because of the increasing amount of waste that has to be handled. Senegal does not make the exception and presents accordingly a growing amount of generated waste which is additionally relatively mismanaged. The research constitutes an attempt to find solutions for achieving sustainable SWM in Senegal. The concept and related processes of “Waste Valorization” appear to have a crucial role in this progress. Particular attention has therefore been given to the waste valorization sector, its development perspectives and its participation in the sustainable development of Senegal.
