Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to research and explain why the international community has not acted upon the R2P principle in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. This thesis identifies various economic, (geo)political and legal considerations that help explain the lack of international response to the Rohingya humanitarian crisis in Rakhine state.
